The Real Bride: Computerized Wedding Planning…
As I mentioned, the big dogs on the internet with regard to planning a wedding are theknot.com and weddingchannel.com…brides.com is not a bad place to go either. To access the wedding planning portion, you need to register, which is free, and they don’t ask any particularly invasive questions–pretty much your/fiance’s name, you wedding date, and where it will be…
When I started my wedding planning quest, I began doing a guest list in Excel, but I then realized it was going to get very cumbersome very fast, and since I did not feel the online wedding planning I mentioned above was right for me, I went to CNet.com and searched for Wedding planning software. My fiance’ is a computer programmer, so I asked him for his feedback as well and we decided on iDo by Elm Software (www.elmsoftware.com). It received very good reviews from CNet, and we really liked it for its thoroughness, ease of use, and it just looked good! It offered me everything I was looking for, from managing contacts, to tracking invitations, gifts and RSVPs! And their Customer Service is superb, which is SO rare these days: I had a problem with my Contact list and I e-mailed Customer Support, who replied within a 1/2 hour (a 1/2 HOUR!) and resolved my problem within 3. It already has, and will continue to make my life easier, especially when I get ready to start tracking things. You are allowed use of it for a 30 day trial period to get used to the feel of the program. $39.95 will purchase the key to open the full version. Although I am computer savvy, people who are not will also find this program is very easy to use, and the software itself does offers help if needed.
If you are interested in user-friendly software that excels at keeping the million and one details organized and at your fingertips: check out iDo…
