The Real Bride: Wedding Favors–What is out there?

When my fiance’ and I were discussing wedding favors, we threw out a TON of different ideas: The little tiny picture frames (I have 6 of them at home in a drawer, none of them have any pictures in them) or bubbles (not really “enough” of a favor) Wedding Scrolls (same thing) Candles (gets expensive if you get anything but the littlest candles) Wine (fairly expensive, and what do you get for the under-aged, non-drinking, or recovering guest?) 6 Jordan almonds, wrapped in netting (way too 1976). We both agreed that we wanted something meaningful, that people would not just throw in a drawer

So I decided to start looking online to see what was out there…WOW..When you type in “Wedding Favors” at Ask, you get 3,950,000 hits. And every one of them is chock full of favor ideas, for all types of weddings (beach and cowboy themes) and all types of styles (casual to ultra formal) and all budgets (from 50 cents to $50.00 a person). Here are 5 of the best:

1. Favor Favor: This is where I purchased my wedding AND bridal shower favors. They are in New York state, so it took 1 day for the stuff to ship once it left their place. They have everything, from soup to nuts, and their prices were substantially cheaper than alot of places. They also allow you to purchase samples, so you can see if you like the item before you buy 100 of them…

2. Favor Warehouse: Very similar to Favor Favor above, but they offer different items as well. Pricing very reasonable, and a vast selection.

3. Simply Elegant Favors: Another site similar to the above. Good selection, good quality, very reasonable.

4. Bride Stuff: In addition to favors, also offer such things as Bride and Groom Gifts, Fun Apparel, Flower Girl Basket, Accessories, Etc. Their selection of favors was oriented towards the traditional, and they don’t have the vast selection the others have.

5. Exclusively Weddings: Again, another site that offers one stop shopping from invites to gifts. While they had some neat favors and stuff, they are a bit pricier than the others. One thing they had that I liked was a section for “out of town guests” where you could buy the supplies to make welcome bags for your guests.

You can probably find what you are looking for at any of these sites. And a money saving tip: Only get a favor per couple, and one each for your single guest.

Happy favor hunting!
