Bride to Wife: Part 3: What Did You Like Least About Your Wedding?
As part of a 6-part series, I have asked local married women 7 questions…today’s question is:
What Did You Like Least About Your Wedding?
D:-The actual planning wasn’t a thrill due to the “common sensitivities” that arise because other’s wishes do not match your own, and because friends or family members lack tact!
-I felt like I needed a nap after riding around in the Bentley, drinking Champagne, before the reception! It showed in some of the photos!
-The day flew by at lightning speed.
-Not going on a honeymoon.
-The band leader totally changed his format and ensemble without telling me…Despite the fact that I asked him to touch base with me before the wedding, and that I ended up calling him 2 weeks before, myself, to see if all was status quo!! Overall they performed well, but we were suppose to dance to a big band style trumpet solo, and the song ended up being played on his electric piano…baaad.
-There wasn’t time to really visit with people who traveled far to see you!
Eve: I tried to please everyone and resented them all.
D’Lynn: The stress
Jen: The stress of worrying if everything would fall into place. Did I forget anything? Will the vendors arrive on time? Who will hand out the payments to vendors?
Dawn: Rained on our wedding day so we couldn’t take outside pictures since we picked Oct. specifically for the fall foliage, people running the reception didn’t seem to know how to do the wedding announcements like announcing the cutting of the wedding cake or the announcement of the 1st dance (Thank goodness the band took over those duties!), my father didn’t attend because he was pissed off, getting a loan out to pay for my own wedding &; honeymoon, losing our wedding certificate within minutes of the ceremony and having my car trashed by our groomsmen even though I vowed they’d be cut up into tiny pieces!
Katie: There’s nothing I didn’t like. I’m one of those weird people who loved every minute of planning and the day itself. And thankfully I had great support from my now husband, sisters, parents, in-laws and friends to make the entire experience one that I will cherish.
Kelly: I could have done without the pre-wedding disasters I mentioned before, and of course there was some bickering about who should be invited.

As always, Comments are welcome
