Bride to Wife: Part 5: If You Could Do It All Again, What Would You Do Differently?
As part of a 6-part series, I have asked local married women 7 questions…today’s question is:
If You Could Do It All Again, What Would You Do Differently?
D: I would have stopped to take my husband’s phone call while I was getting my hair braided. He was all alone getting ready, and now I realize that he felt alone, no one was making him feel special.
-I would have had “all of my hair” done by the stylist, and not just the braid in the back! (Of course, with a trial run before the big day to make sure I liked their work!)
-I would have left my hair its natural color!
-Not drink so much in the limo! (It really wasn’t much, just more than I was used to)
-I would not have had my bouquet professionally pressed, only because I didn’t get to enjoy it after the reception, as it was whisked away to the craftsman!
-At least go away for a weekend honeymoon.
Eve: If I could plan it again, I’d get married in the courthouse on Friday evening at 7 and have a formal cocktail Reception right there ending at 9. Then, we’d have an after-party somewhere else.
D’Lynn: Probably nothing
Jen: There are new vendors in the area now that I wish were here when I was getting married. Kristy Rice from Momental and Shane East from Shane East Photography. I may have changed the colors, and added some more detail, but overall our day was perfect!
Dawn: Elope!!! Less hassle with the family.
Katie: The only thing I would change would be to have had our ceremony professionally filmed/videotaped.
Kelly: The one thing I would definitely change is I would hire a videographer. We had a great photographer and got a ton of wonderful still shots, but I wish I had video. A few family members had video cameras, but the quality isn’t great. My aunt, whose two daughters were flower girls, grabbed a used tape as she was leaving the house, so the beginning of our wedding tape includes “Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure”. Another aunt set the camera down during the service and didn’t realize it was still on, so as we’re reciting our vows, you just see everyone’s feet! I also wish I could somehow slow the whole day down! We had a great time, but it seemed like it was over way too soon!
