The Real Bride: One month to go!
I cannot believe it! After over a year of planning and budgeting and arguing with just about everyone I have ever known–I am down to the the final 30 days before my wedding…and now the real fun begins!
My invitations have been out for 3 weeks–all delivered safe and sound to their intended recipients without a “return to sender” amongst them–and within 24 hours the RSVP’s began coming in–and they are still, a couple every day. And it so much fun to get the daily update that tells me who is coming and who is not…
But with the deadline being next Saturday the 23rd, about 50% of the RSVP’s are still not in. But I am not worried, as I utilized an RSVP Service to help me gather the wayward folks who never got around to going to the website or calling the 800 number. Can I just tell you how happy I am NOT to be calling 30-40 people and saying “Your didn’t RSVP, are you coming to my wedding?”
Now that we are down to the wire, all of the final payments are coming due. It can be a stressful time, just making sure everything is is paid, and then comes the inevitable things I forgot, and running around making sure all of the details are done…

My do-it-yourself projects are just about complete. My veil looks amazing, with over 100 AB crystals scattered on it. My ivory satin purse with scattered pearls and a gold braided cording looks a good as any purse I could find online or in a store.
One of my favorite projects was the wooden roses we are giving as favors to the ladies who attend our wedding. I spent nearly a week with floral tape and leaves and red ribbons to craft a gorgeous long stemmed rose with red ribbon that everyone will enjoy. And a great think about it? The whole project cost me about $35–for ALL of my favors!
My fiancé and I are also applying our design experience to the invitations for the Rehearsal Dinner as well as our Wedding programs.
We had out meeting with our officiant on Monday, and have just about finalized our wedding ceremony. It is beautiful–and uniquely us. And I am so relieved our officient has agreed to read the Rose Ceremony for us!
My 2nd wedding gown fitting is next Saturday–I cannot WAIT to see the dress all put together with me veil and headpiece! I have never seen it all together–so I reallyREALLY hope it works out…
My main goal for the next 30 days is to get everything done, don’t overspend, and try not to go insane…Whew!
